i do not if it is "best" but one way is freeze drying them. other than that you can get artificial velvet done.

Planning on hunting buck before they shed the velvet? The artifical never looks real in my honest opinion.

just be careful if you decide not to take the proper steps to preserve them because they will likely bring in bugs to all the other mounts in your/his house if you don't. so treat them correctly or leave them somewhere that is a safe distance away from other trophies.

There is velvet tan made by mckenzie you inject it i have used it a few times works really well

this time of year i would have them freeze dried,if it happened later this month i would strip them and have artificial velvet done.i have one in my studio and people think it is the real velvet
