Co-worker found this at a local Goodwill and bought it for me.Plan on using it as a catchall for small muzzy stuff.Any ideas on how old or worth?

Not sure about the date it was made, probably 1978 for a centenniel/ However, I don't know when Lyman's company started selling sights. As stated above the first patent was 1879. That doesn't mean that William Lyman was not selling sights earlier. Lyman purchased the Ideal reloading tool company in 1825, but Ideal started about 1884. The pistol modeled after an 1858 New Model Army Remmington. Flasks such as in the picture were made at least in the 1850's, by the American Flask and Cap Company of Waterbury Conn.

Cool piece regardless.
