They are closing everywhere...Obama getting his wishes. I don't work underground but work in the coal industry and I never thought it could get this slow. Too many friends have lost their jobs to this nonsense.
I too am sorry for this hardship. And although I know it will not help you or the folks being hit now, but this effort of Obama's to destroy coal can and will be overturned in the future. Maybe not even in our lifetimes; but it will be resurrected as a necessary fuel source and the technologies and processes will return. They may not even be recognizable but it will come back in spite of Obama.
I worked 37 years in underground mines. Started when I turned 18, was able to retire before age 55. It was a good living, and I really enjoyed the work and the guys I worked with. Got to see a lot of incredible things that most folks could never imagine.
