First day out last week, the birds were fired up, i must have heard a good 3 or 4 birds gobbling within the first hour i was there, unfortunately, i just couldn't get on them, lack of experience or just bad luck idk. Now the last 2 days Ive been out its been absolutely silent all morning, not a peep. I thought with the weather being nice today the woods would be active, saw plenty of deer, no turkey. What are some tactics you guys use when its completely silent and you're not sure where the birds are?

Run n gun till I find one that'll talk to me.

In big woods it's easier..for me anyways...jump on a trail or ridge or old logging road and in the locator call every so often...

Small woods I usually drive farm to farm..I don't like it as much...but that's what is closest to me...
