Trying to track down a hunt club in Washington Co

878 Views 7 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  JustinWidowMaker
I recently purchased some property between Lone Pine and Marianna in Washington County. Most of the land around my piece is owned by "Pennsylvania Mining Company" on my plot map. While driving around i noticed almost all of the surrounding property is posted with B.A.H.C. on the signature line and no address. I gather it is "B....A....hunt club". Did some googling and came up empty. Just curious if anyone knows possibly what hunt club this is and contact information for them. Just like to know who's in the neighborhood. Thanks!

Call P M C and ask them who they lease it to.
Re: Trying to track down a hunt club....

P M C doesnt seem to be a company. Not much information on the plot map. I don't know if they are generically saying that "A" pennsylvania mining company owns it, or what but its very vague. I might need to goto the courthouse and see if there is more info on a different record. Surely there is something better somewhere.

Consol coal is a big player in washco and own land under different affiliations. If you can get the tax parcel number email them and they can tell you if the parcel is leased for hunting or not. They will not tell you who the lease holder is however.

Thanks, thats good information. There are signs underneath of the posted signs that say "non-commercial regulated hunting grounds" so I'm fairly certain that the sole purpose of the lease is hunting by this hunt club.

Thats got to be a dog/bird hunting club regulated by the PGC. You might contact thw WCO or someone in Harrisburg that issues the permits. Not sure if the will give the the info though.

There is a commercial bird hunting preserve on Daniels run road that is located in the area you are describing. The name escapes me right now but you can't miss the lodge. It borders the SGL 297.

Oh I know exactly where that is. I totally forgot about that. That might be a good place to check.
