I found this skat in Archery Bear season in The Allegheny National Forest. Never seen any like it. Hoping someone can help identify.

Interesting first post!

Hard to tell size, kinda looks like grouse if real small?

I say grouse as well. Was it under a tree by any chance, where one might roost?

Where either a grouse or a pheasant has been roosted for a while. Typically found where they have spent the night though sometimes were they have spend part of the day.

On one of my hunting trips in Montana, I played a Facebook game called "Name that Skat". My wife was not happy with that game and my hunting buddy was trying to get me to take a photo of my own. That was the one time I was glad I didn't listen to him.
