Well since my wife and son went without a buck thur the rifle season now, they seem to have alot of interest in the second season, they both still have valid buck and doe tags. I just got the buck tag, but plan to carry the flinter.

Yet more hunting days the crossbow has brought to my family...
. Neither are flinter fans...YET

Anything to watch for on a crossbow in cold/snowy conditions????

I am going to keep a close eye on the rails for freezing ot icing water drops or snow down in the flethc slot but any other tips??

A good coat of wax on the strings and cables. It will help keep the melted snow out of them. You could wax the barrel with a quailty automotive wax for the same reason. It won't keep the melted snow off, but should make it easier to remove frozen water. If water gets in your trigger or latch, give it a few drops of synthetic oil to keep it from rusting.

Dress warm and hunt the food. Good luck to you and the family!

I should have taken the snowshoes along this morning!!! Way over my knee in many of the places I hunted this morning, with a crust half way down.
