What are they charging you? How much land do you get to hunt? What kind of pressure on that land before you get there?
They have almost 12,000 acres. 4 of us will be hunting one farm (almost 1000 acres). They only hunt the rut so we will be the first on the property (10/28 to 11/4).
The price is $2450 and is fully guided w/ breakfast, bag lunch for the stand and a family style supper.

Bills seems like a nice guy. We talked to him at a show last year and had phone contact with him through outthe year. He called all of us to make sure we knew when to send of our permits and called to make sure we got them. It's only a few short weeks from the hunt and i will let you know how we made out.

Please let us know if this turns out to be true or not. Almost every outfitter claims this. Look at the stands you will be hunting. See if their is a well worn path to them. See if the bark on the trees is scuffed up from guys climbing in and and out. Look for cigarette butts, candy wrapper etc...

If he made that claim that you are the 1st, let us now if you think you were. I am a gamblin man and I bet you will not be.

Bill seemed like an up standing guy when i first called him. The referances i talked to all said they would go back. And not all of them shot a deer. Some of the outfitters i talked to turned me off just the way they were talking to me.

I will let you know how it turns out. we are all hoping it is a good hunt. We figure if 1 gets a p&y it will be a good hunt. And myself, if i see a shooter it will be a good hunt.I am treating it as a vacation. The only thing guaranteed in hunting and fishing is that i will enjoy myself. No different then going to Hawaii last year for a marlin and paid for a boat ride. But i have good merories and photos.

Well we just got back from Illinios. We didn't shoot any buck but we all saw 140" class deer. Of the 4 of us we took 2 doe and 1 coyote.
It turns out the 1000 acre farm was 500 but that was more than enough room for us. The giudes really didn't do much guideing. The first day they showed us a stand and when we wanted to move they would meet us at 10am and take us to another stand. I believe we were the ones doing the guideing. They would want to know what and were we saw deer. We figured so they could but the next group on them. The stands were there for yrs. as the trees were grown around most of them so the deer would look up at you but not run. There were a few guys in camp that had their own stands and when they hunted out of them they started seeing deer.

Another thing we were told is they rotate farms. That no one would be hunting the farm we hunted for at least a week after us. Well i got a call from a guide the day after we left and he said they shot a nice buck out of one of the stands we hunted. So much for rotating.

All in all it was a good week. Some things we didn't like about it but most we did. I will be going back with them in 2 yrs. A little smarter and knowing how to play their game.

Thanks for the update, it seems like there were some things omitted by them when you were talking to them about hunting there. I certainly hope that isn't the case with my hunt next year at Performance Outdoors. I am doing the second shotgun season Dec. 2 - 5 with my Ultimate Muzzleloader.
