just bought some MB 550s and they look alot bigger than i assumed. Will these be ok for fox and the occasional raccoon?

They are good for fox and raccoons, a little heavy, but good. I bought some 450's to use specifically for fox but I don't see it being a real problem for fox.

The 550s might be a little over kill for fox and racoon,but that doesn't mean they wouldn't work for them. If you are targeting fox I would go with a mb450 or a bridger 1 3/4, because both would hold a coyote, but aren't ruff on fox.

We have a mix of both reds and greys Ive caught both although I see more reds.
We are targeting yotes but that is optimistic. I know i am more likely to hit the coons and fox in the area and the traps (which we already purchased) looked overkill. Just wanted to make sure they would work, I understand they arent ideal but if theyll work im not worried and a confident trapper is a more successful one IMO.

I've caught reds, greys, coyote, coons and fishers in my 550's. Great trap and no issues with fox.

did you buy the offset ones ? much easier on a non targets body

yes i did buy the offsets, we will see got new property and they say that theyve been seeing yotes EVERYWHERE on camera so fingers crossed we can snap a few. I just know all to well how many non targets (coon possum skunk) im gunna catch as well and didnt want to traps being to harsh.
