Anyone slinging old school thunderheads from a crossbow? Online “reviews” are mixed. My KI is rated at 370fps, I’m going to 425gr bolts so should be around 350 I think. I have some thunderheads and thought why buy something else if these fly good. Obviously I’ll have to try just trout maybe some of you may have already.

I took 3 bucks on 3 shots 2 with a Horton crossbow and another with an another with a Barnett crossbow all with 125 gr. Thunderhead a few years back. I purchased the broad heads in the 90's and have taken several bucks with the 125's in my Mathews Switchback. Some of the broad heads have taken more than one buck. All of the shots have been pass throughs with no damage to the broad head. I sharpen the blades and reuse them. I will be using the 125 gr. thunderheads in compound bow this fall. I also took a 250 lb. black bear with 125 gr. in my switchback shooting 55 lbs.

Only way to know is to shoot them. Every bow is different. If they shoot well, modern broadheads will perform if put in the right spot.
