Im heading west this season for elk season and looking to maybe pickup a new thompson center venture in 300 win mag or 300 wsm just wondering if anyone here has experience with these rifles in the magnum calibers and any thoughts good or bad about purchasing one? For the money it appears to be a decent rifle have held on to a few in the store and for plastic seems ok to me but who knows, im looking to pick one up with the weather shield barrel.

I have Ventures in 7mm Rem Mag, 280, 300 WSM and 338 Win Mag. All easily shoot under MOA. The 7mm was a little finicky until I found the right load for it. I think they are the best budget rifle out there right now.
