I own a T/C White Mountain Carbine .50 cal flintlock and have been wandering lately whether it is possible/feasible to swap a double-trigger assembly from a Renegade or Hawken rifle for the factory trigger? As far I can tell the stock and lock are the same on all models.
Has anyone done this or know if it would work? What's the cost involved?
The mortise for the DST is different. Don't know that there would be room for DST's in the trigger guard. You may need to switch trigger guards as well. It would require carving out larger mortises. It may be substantially easier to install a single set trigger.
Single set triggers are available from several different manufacturers. You may need to visit a black powder shop like Dixons to make sure you get the right size.
