What needs to be pushed in Harrisburg is the Pugh clause as a state law which would allow landowners to release their land on parcels that aren;t developed into a unit or being drilled. I also believe that a well should be producing gas in order to hold the current lease in place....just like the gas companies see this as a business to make money, I veiw my land as my asset and if there is a way to increase revenues by releasing than thats a good business decision on my part... I just don't have the money to buy off state officials to see things my way......right Govenor????

Very true!! And how can they add you into an existing unit right before your lease expires? Landowners are getting the shaft!

i think that is a good article. a lot of truths. but some of those truths are the fact that the land owners who signed leases should have realized that people weren't running around handing money out for nothing.
anyone who signed a lease and took the money should have known they were giving gas comps certain rights. if they didnt, they probly still believe in santa claus

with that said, i believe the PA gov't needs to clarify at what point your land is considered legaly in a unit. i also believe the gas comps are pushing that issue behond what should be legal!! i know of a few cases around here that i personaly would have fought in court!

to sumerize, i like this article, just need to remember that those who signed early leases got a raw deal, but it was there choice to sign. no one forced them.
