I shot the Z7, reezen 7 an Athens Accomplice 32 and a Hoyt Carbon Matrix (Only one in Ohio! just for fun no way I'm paying 1600 for a bow)

I thought the Z7 sucked, it took every ounce I had to get it to break over and I've shot bows over 70 lbs my whole life. The Reezen was pretty sweet. May just be getting one of those. The Carbon Matrix was like shooting a marshmellow...Dead, no noise no vibration and smooth on the draw. Felt wierd. The thing is wild looking.. kinda on the ugly side. but it shoots.

I relly liked the draw on the Athens. I didnt like the way the cable guard attached to the bow or the slide type guard. It looks really cheap. Otherwise it was nice but I wouldnt buy it cause of that.

Thye new Monster is slower because they increased the brace to 7". Alot of people can't shoot a bow properly with as short a brace as the original had. I had a short brace speed bow once and if I wasn't really careful I would pop my watch right off my bow arm! That's cutting it way to close for a hunting bow.

So basically once again, Mathews has failed to come out with some good new technology, and some good new bows. Dead Lock Riser technology? Come on... Its gonna draw and shoot like a reezen. That monster 7.0 will actually sell now that average people can shoot it, but I'm sure they didnt improve the draw cycle, or make it any better balanced. They disappoint me again this year.

Didnt bowtech,PSE and Hoyt copy Mathews? I think the singlecam, Paralell limbs, shorter light weight bows were Mathews innovations copied by the others to say they havent come out with anything new when a whole company(Bowtech) was formed by copying another (Mathews) is a little misleading. How many true innovations aside from pivoting limbs which Oneida had years ago has Bowtech offered...Not saying a Bowtech is not a good bow but they have copied Mathews......and continue to do so

It's funny how when mathews comes out a new bow people rush on here to bash it lol. Did blowtech, hoyt and the others come out with bows this year? I wouldnt know because on here has mentioned any of them other then the carbon matrix.

Im not rushing on here to bash anything. I dont shoot bowtech, and I'm not a fan of their bows for the past few years, hence the reason I dont shoot them anymore. I shot mathews several years ago, when they made smooth drawing well balanced, single cam hunting bows. Those days are gone. Maybe one day, if they make a bow that meets those specifications again, I'll go back. But until then, I'll be shooting my Elite, one of my PSEs, or the Hoyt I'm going to buy. Name doesnt mean anything to me, and most people get caught up in it. If someone makes a good bow, I'll shoot it, if not, I'll be the first to tell you about it.

Shootbowtech you take every opportunty to bash matthews bows . If you have a valid criticism fine but most of your posts are ill informed . And if you don't shoot a Bowtech maybe you should change your name!!!

Dan, Ive spent two years as a bow technician at Lancaster Archery Supply working with the some of the best bow techinicans in the world, bar none. I'm not saying I'm nearly as good or as knowledgeable as they are, but I know enough. If you've been in, I've probably worked on your stuff. I shot every bow under the sun as they came in, multiple times, some before you even knew they were available. In the past 5 years I have shot every bow from every major bow manufacturer at least once, and can make some pretty good comparisons. Im not trying to toot my own horn by any means, thats not what I'm here to do. However, I have been shooting the IBO World Championships for the past two years, and have placed top ten both times. I have enough hunting and shooting experience to make some criticisms. And as far as changing my name, I would if I could. I dont hate mathews, as I mentioned I used to shoot a Mathews, back when they made better bows. I have owned bows from all sorts of manufacturers, mathews, hoyt, bowtech, elite, and pse. Name means nothing. Look at the thread for best Mathews bow ever...I dont see the monster or reezen or any of the new ones mentioned much if at all. I certainly see alot of votes for swtichbacks, and MQs, and the smooth drawing well balanced good hunting bows of a few years ago. Totally different bows now. When I make a post about any bow, I'll tell you pros and cons, when it comes to my opinion of what a hunting bow should be. You obviously have your own, and I'm not saying its wrong. But before you make any assumptions about how "informed" I may be, please believe that I have taken the time to gather the knowledge I need to make those posts. I know mathews pays you big bucks to defend them and all, but don't take it so personally.

I just bash matthews just to listen to the reactions that I get. also I would never pay that much for a bow. there isnt anything wrong with them i just think there over rated.
