True morels have to be one of the easiest mushrooms to identify. I can't fathom how some folks can confuse falsies with true morels.


You're right though. Some can eat false and suffer no illness. Others will get deathly sick. No thanks on taking the chance.

I am no mushroom expert and the morel is the only one I know and pick. I bet I'm passing a lot of good eating up but until someone with some knowledge takes me out an helps me identify others I'll stick to the lovely morel.

You need to join the Western Pa Mushroom Club.. Yes you are passing up many a good healthy mushrooms in your walks in the woods.. The club will show you what to pick and where to find them too.. JOIN!!!! $25.00 for a family membership...
