This season was one of my toughest archery season. Logged a total of 27 sits and 6 of those were all day sits with only 7 deer seen all season. The deer seemed to move through every time I wasn't there. Dealing with pressure from people on the public as well. Just seemed like the slowest year i've had. Well Saturday November 13th it changed. I was sitting on a funnel in the hardwoods and sat all day with a signing of two deer at first light. Around 3:30 in the afternoon I saw antlers coming straight too me and he was about 30 yards cruising for does. He closed to about 17 and stoped slightly quartering to me. I took the shot and immediately felt sick. I let him lay till Sunday morning since I was almost positive it was a straight gut shot. When taking up the trail Sunday with my buddies it had rained overnight. We found some liver and lung blood. He went about 250 yards and tipped over. Such a great ending to archery, as Im not a fan of rifle!
