It's a hockey night, and five minutes in the Pens have put up three already. Word is that Matt Canada DID NOT script the first five line changes....😄

Let's go lads, 82-0!

Good lord, Letang had a stroke. Hopefully he is alright, regardless if he can ever play again.
All the comments by Letang and the Pens indicate they expect him to be all right, but you never know. Best wishes to him.
Hope thats true. That is the kind of thing that makes you forget the game and just worry about the guy. Especially since he's had more than one.
I read this morning that 1 in 4 stroke victims have at least another one. So he's now in that higher risk group along with the hole-in-heart thing that's added risk factor. Hope he can fully recover like the last one. I'd be suprised if he returns to the line-up though.

Who eats up Letangs' 27 or so minutes/game? Petry/Rutta signings look better. Hopefully they have decent depth in WBS to shore up bottom depth when the injury bug hits.

What's up with Rust and his -12 +/- rating? He's almost always been a + player until this season. He just signed new long-term contract so maybe he's living large?
The GM said no one guy can replace Letangs minutes. It is to be divided among the group.. At the beginning of the season, they were supposed to have 9 NHL caliber defensemen on the roster. I guess that depth will get tested.
Am I the only one that finds their inability to at least get out of Overtime unscathed and to just get to the shootout maddening? They have the shooters to get the extra point in the s/o but man they get killed in overtime! Cmon man..

Letang will be missed especially on the PP. Good luck to him.

The boys managed to rally from 0-2 to get a needed two against LV. A Kapanen sighting to boot! Be nice if he got it going a bit.

All the early news on Letang is still positive, so let's hope it stays that way.
The power play is horrible right now.
Kapanen with the HT. Man, if they can just get this guy going, just steady, it would be a big plus. Let's hope his little break from action has caused something to click.

I don't know these guys, but its easy to just say well, guy needed a fire lit under his butt. Could be true. Or, KK may be a hard worker, trying hard, nothing going right, no puck luck, frustration sets in. Sometimes a step back resets things.

Like a baseball hitter in a slump. A few games off, boom, goes 3 for 4 with a few RBI in the next five games.

Either way, I'll take it.

Yeah, some consistency out of Kapanan would be a plus. I've been really happy with Rakell's play. He's been a great addition.

Who would have imagined that Kapenen would be the guy to get the PP going?

I agree, if he keeps that up and develops into the talent, they thought he was, this could turn this season around!
It sure wouldn't hurt. And it would justify the investment the team made in him which, at the time, I did not understand.

Agreed. One would think they do have the shooters to get the extra point if they could just get to the shootouts. That being said, I don't like Jarry in shootouts.
Imagine if they had shootouts in Mario and Gretzkys day.

Headline: Pittsburgh defeats Edmonton 47-46 in the shootout.

And don't forget how the game got to OT, Barasso saved 93 of 96 shots during regulation!

YES! Defense was such a novel concept in those days.
I stand highly surprised...Letang legend grows. The question now is can he play better even strength after stroke # 2? His stat line up to the stroke show's he was -7 +/- so far this season.

And I am going to add, in times like these and athletes with a hang nail are on IR for a month, he had a stroke. This is stuff that is more like a movie than real life. Good for him, I hope his re-coop is fantastic and strong!
