The United States Air Force recently held a ceremony for a Selinsgrove native.
<span style="font-weight: bold">Captain Kyle RJ Blett</span> has recently been promoted to the rank of Captain in the United States Air Force at Lackland AFB, San Antonio, Texas, where he is a valued member of the 59th Medical Squadron.
Blett entered his military career enlisting in the Marine Corp where he served for 4 years and rose the the rank of Sargent. After his time, he re-enlisted in the Air Force.
Prior to his latest assignment at Lackland AFB, Blett was an Intercontinental Ballistic Missile Combat Crew Commander Evaluator at Minot AFB, Minot, North Dakota. His responsibility was evaluating missile combat crews and primary mission duty for nuclear alerts. Blett’s mission developed and provided combat-ready forces for nuclear deterrence and to support the President of the Untied States, plus combatant commanders, on global strike operations.
As an enlisted Senior Airman, Blett entered Kuwait and was forward deployed to Iraq, serving in Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom 2003.
Blett is a graduate of Park University and obtained his Masters degree at Troy University.
He is a product of Selinsgrove Schools and has a wife, Tana Sprenkel Blett and one son, Jaydon.
Capt. Blett is the son of Ralph (Hern) and Lorraine Blett, Selinsgrove, Monroe Township.
