Try pegging it.
There's some products made for this but you can use a tooth pick if the hole through the weight is big enough.
All you do is rig it all up then stick the tooth pick in the hole with the line and break it off. It'll keep the weight from sliding and catching on to things.
If that doesn't work try a diff rig like a shaky head rig
better yet buddy, try a small finesse jig about 1/4 oz. and get one with a soft weed guard and heavy skirt like a strike king bitsy bug or bitsy flip. just twitch it a little and drag it like a finesse worm. they will crush it and you will avoid weeds better. but also remember that with texas rig if you peg it you can use a 1/2 oz. bullet weight and just let it sit for about 45 seconds before moving till the fish get a chance to hone in on it.
HINT: use a glass rattle in your plastic bait to get them fired up. they love a little click sound. with Carolina you can use a beed.
where can i find a glass rattle? I tried pegging it weeks ago and i was not catching one single weed. but when I let the worm sink on the cast i will let it sit on bottom and jerk it every now and then and the bullet weight keeps getting snagged on rocks every time now and I cant feel bites. Any solution to that?
