From what experience I have with taurus they seem to hold up well to normal use, and shoot good. From what I understand they won't hold up like a Ruger or Smith will under extended use.
Another thing. They don't hold the value like some other guns do. Unless you get a great deal on it don't expect a return on your investment. Sort of like buying a Kia. May work good, but you get nothing when you turn them in. I was just at a gun show yesterday. A vender had a used taurus that was a lot cheaper than the used Ruger. The price at new was close to the same as I checked them out.
Lastly. If you like the gun, it fits you well and you get a great deal have at it. It will probably serve you well. I have always been a sucker for a good deal.
