If you’re concerned about the Susquehanna River’s sick and dying smallmouth bass and are tired of trying to fish in a river choked with algae, then join your peers at the Susquehanna Summit this week. Sponsored by the National Wildlife Federation, the summit will be held on Wednesday, March 20, beginning at 8:15 a.m. at the Best Western Country Cupboard in Lewisburg.

The focus of the summit will be on the people who use the Susquehanna River for recreation and those who make a living off the river. You will hear the latest river research, learn about the economic importance of the river and get an overview of water quality improvement and restoration and recreation projects. You will hear perspectives from the water from anglers and outfitters.

Among the scheduled speakers are Fish and Boat Commission Executive Director John Arway and the Commission's Susquehanna River biologist, Geoff Smith.

The Susquehanna Summit is free but you must register to attend. Register at
