I am relatively new to the forums, so I apologize if this is a recycled topic. I looked back 30 pages and didn't see anything...

I'm planning on going out west this fall and would like to lighten my trigger pull considerably. I shoot a M700 BDL chambered for 30-06. Not sure how old the gun is, but I'm guessing 20-25 years... I've had it for 15 and it was bought used. I'm guessing the trigger is around 5-6 lbs as is. I don't know what's legal, but I always shoot better with a light trigger.

What are my options? Can a good gunsmith make this happen or is an aftermarket setup my best option? If aftermarket is the way to go, what is a good brand?

Thanks for your time...

A good gun smith should get it down to 3 pounds, which is a good pull for a big game hunting.

They're easy to adjust but if you haven't done it before or aren't comfortable with it take it to a gunsmith. They should be able to make it how you want it without buying another.

My 'smith charges about $30 and makes it what every you want. You try it and if it is too heavy or light he adjusts it again free until you get what you want. 3# is a good place to be with no creep and little over travel, it will feel very good.
