We have a smaller food plot that I am starting to develop, and I want to plant something around the edges for cover. The area gets moderate sun and borders a stand of old pines. I was thinking of switchgrass because I like that it grows pretty high, but what kind? I didn't know there were so many kinds. Is there a type of grass? I'd like it give some cover through the winter.

As for the switchgrass, would I have to worry about the seeds like you do with foxtail getting into my dogs eyes, lungs, etc...

I also don't want to have to cut it regularlly.
