Fred Miller has not retired. He sold the muzzleloader portion of his business. He still sells wood, makes his war clubs, does some modern gun stock duplication and and occasional violin back.
He is still recovering from shoulder surgery, coming along pretty well.

are you looking for a pre-carved stock or a cherry plank? Nosing around at a few saw mills may turn up a nice , resonably priced seasoned plank. A buddy wanted to make a stock from osage orange and bought a nice 9 year old plank from a saw mill.
