I just bought a Stevens sxs (RANGER). IT'S hard finding info on these guns. On this gun it has a recoil pad that has a duck and the name Ranger on it. Has any one seen a pad like this ?

Just a little more info on your Ranger:
Sounds like it's a model 101.6 or 101.7...??
Mostly any gun marked Ranger was made for Sears.
I have an old 22 Ranger that was my Dads and it was made by Marlin for Sears.

The Ranger line was made for Sears and Roebuck, by Hunter Arms, famous for L.C.Smith shotguns. The Ranger was the same as the Fulton and Fulton Special. These were and are extremely good box lock shotguns, as many of the parts were the same design as he L.C.Smith.

I have a Ranger. It's in good shape except for a small crack in the stock and a ding in the barrel that may or may not need to be fixed. The only letter i can find on it is a C. Does anyone know of a gunsmith that is good with old SxS's?

I don't know Steve's last name, I do know the president of the LC Smith club uses him to work on some of his high grade Smith's
