Well, the rain stopped Saturday afternoon and I was able to get my stepson out for the last evening of the youth antlerless season. The deer were already in the field by the time we got there (5PM) so we used the standing corn as cover and stalked within 200 yards. We waited for about 15 minutes to get a clear shot angle and he piled her up with one good shot from my Rem 700 VLS in 243. This is his second deer and he's only 14. I think he's getting spoiled. In a total of three days of deer hunting, he's killed a buck and a doe.
