Hey Guest, it looks like you haven't made your first post yet. Until you make an introduction thread, the rest of the site is locked to posting. Why not take a few minutes to say hi!
Well watched the local ducks and geese moving around. Things are freezing most small ponds have ice or are frozen. Some ducks mostly local geese. Eyeing up for next week. Have a Good one !!
Yea, after this week we will all be froze out. Changing the season later was,as I thought, a big mistake. Dang global warming alarmist! Get the field decoys out or find a fast moving creek. We are already talking about where to build the ground blinds. We have more than a month of the season left.
I would take a freeze up than this past month of no ducks. And open water. I know I can get birds when the big freeze happens. But sadly our season is over. I would gladly give up the days in October for a later season even with a threat of a big freeze.
Every small body of water I saw today was frozen over and after this late week they'll be VERY froze over. Gonna be a very interesting late season for sure. It's been years since its been this cold this early.
Lot of birds south of us already....... See how it plays out, but NY is looking at highs in the low 20's, making ice as we speak. Real ice, not something that goes away during the day....
We are seeing movement , plan if not too bad is river Saturday.
Buddy seen a large group of birds, ducks over Green Garden, I know there was someone that hunted the reservoir ( or around it) they should get this message. Well over a hundred light colored birds he was driving and they were moving fast and lower over the crash site.
