Just a couple backyard shots tonight.
Had a lot of nuisance neighborhood lights to contend with. Street and city lights glare.

A lot of stars out there.

The Big Dipper.

Crescent Moon with a little glare. I think I bumped the tripod.

Nice shot of the andromeda galaxy in the first pic as well.
Thats the bright kite shaped cluster on the right side, across from orion.
If you would of been in that galaxy in 1977,with a strong enough telescope to actually see the events going on,you would of just seen the lights from the great chicago fire.
Lets you know just how far away our closest galaxy is from us.

Hey, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the cluster to the right of Orion and before Pleides,in the 1st. pic., Taurus the bull?

Great pics. Whats the secret to taking good night sky pictures? I can't seem to pull it off.

The darker the area around you the better, no street lights or the overhead glow of the city lights. It creates glare in your photo.

A tripod.

A good camera with a 30 second shutter speed, a hand held remote or timer.

PATIENCE.
