Would you guys agree that it seems unlikely that a coyote would be able to "pump" out a 24" rebar stake at the end of a 6 foot cable. Some of the ground here (NW PA) is so hard and rocky that I would prefer to use a stake instead of a disposable anchor.

Yes it would seem unlikely but, won't say a pull out is out of question depending on ground and size of yote. A 50 lber might suprise you as to its power. A single stake will come loose alot sooner than cable stake or crossed rebar.

I always cross stake my cable restraints and never had a coyote pull out

I only use one stake...never had a problem. but i never got a 50 pounder either... so kip has good point
