Is anybody familiar with SGL 229 in Schuylkill Co. for electric wheelchair access to hunt spring turkey? I have a doghouse blind that I plan on hunting from but need to know of any access roads throughout the game land for wheelchair use. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

If you call the PGC, they'll let you know the best access points.

Any disabled hunters needing access to a Game Land, especially wheelchair users will find SGL 227 near Tamaqua, PA almost perfectly suitable. There's ample parking space in the lot and a path to negotiate your wheelchair around the entrance gate. There are some hilly areas if you're in a manual wheelchair but if you're in an electric chair I had no problems accessing the roads around the SGL with my Permobil C-500. Just be sure to check with the office before you go hunting as some of the roads were muddy from either rain or snow melt. Happy hunting!!!
