I am I need on some help for purchasing a spinning rod and reel for an upcoming camping trip. I plan on fishing the redbridge dam area of the Allegheny River in the Kane area. Looking for an all purpose rod that can handle any type of fish that will be caught in the area.

Id say no more than 8, and id lean heavily towards p-line. Mostly because im a p-line finatic. But regular old stren or trilene will work fine

For the past 10 years I have used 6 lb Vanish fluorocarbon on all my bass spinning gear without any regrets....yet!

I like these guys suggestions and would go with a Walmart sheakespear combo. That way if it gets busted up its no loss. I've carried these combos for years in 6 or 8 lb test line. I have nicer setups but need to take care with those, not always easy camping.
