It is no secret that Lake Wallenpaupack has big browns. There is a wild population that spawns and fingerlings are stocked as well. However, a friend of mine caught a massive palomino while trolling for browns. The west branch of the Wallenpaupack Creek is stocked with rainbows and browns. The east branch is stocked with some brookies for the kids fishing derby. Some palominos get dumped in there too. My theory about his palomino is that it was stocked in the river and made its way into the lake where it grew to the large size of 21". I wonder what other species of trout make it into that lake. I wonder if there could be lake trout. Anyone have experience with trout fishing in Lake Wallenpaupack?
