Recently found an old south bend bamboo rod. all of the guides were missing( my guess from the rotting of the sinew or whatever it was holding them on to the pole), about 4 inches has been cut off from the top of the pole, and the handle is pretty narly. also, on the third piece of the rod the metal insert has two cracks on it, which i am not too worried about right now. im not looking to sell this rod, im looking to fix it up a little bit and hopefully get it back to fishing shape. any tips on restoration, or even along the lines of how old the rod might be? any help greatly appreciated. would post pics but i cant seem to figure out how on this website.
