Everything is sold out, everywhere. Every on line supplier, gun shows, everything is wiped out. Nevermind actually evil black guns...those are long gone...Now it's everything! Yes, you can still get 30-30 boxes of ammo for next deer season! Relax!

Go here for example:

http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/browse/ammo-rifle-762x39-ammo.aspx?c=96&s=953

Back ordered till late Jan to middle of MARCH! Even if the gov't does NOTHING, the price just went up on everything. That's the liberals, always helping out the middle class...by making us pay more.

You people that voted for dumbo, shame on you, and those who voted for "other candidate", I'll say the same. Spare me the "You don't understand" crap. I understand. The goal was to defeat the Socialist/marxist, and we didn't. Now, we must survive 4 more years of the same of the last 4, and the country will never be the same. Never.

Personally, I'm a conservative. I was raised that way and I always will be one. The political fearmongering that comes from a democrat being elected is kind of sad anymore really. I remember being in high school when Bill Clinton was re-elected and I remember all the republican and conservative minded people I knew raving about how it was the beginning of the end and in two years they'd have all of our guns, blah, blah, blah. It's 2013 in a week and I still have my guns, my freedom of religion, my freedom of speech, etc, and so forth.

Ok.....go to the store and buy some ammo since you are so "free"..... Not for sale at any price.

You really thing you are free? Really? Despite the gun issue, which is this forum, but we have never had more freedoms taken away from us in my lifetime than now. I really don't understand this "freedom is everywhere" stance from you. How about Obama care? is that Freedom? Don't get me started. I think you are on the wrong forum. Perhaps MSNBC would suit you better.

Dumbo isn't Clinton, not even close.

Political fearmongering? Dude....I'm done tying.

I agree and feel the same. 20 plus years of this stuff just increases sales and puts cash in the dealers and manufacturers pockets.

Actually, the Brady Bill was one of the FIRST pieces of legislation Clinton signed in to law. And he and the Dems had every intention of going deeper. But an interesting thing happened. The backlash over the Brady Bill cause a massive GOP wave, and they took over the house and Senate.

Clinton immediately stopped talking about any other gun legislation, as did most any other Dem up for election, except the few in places like California and New York, who have no fear of losing.

Until last week, a dem would never introduce another gun ban. Joe Manchin is already back-pedaling on things he said last week. He's already feeling the pressure of his momentary anti-gun statements.

Regardless who was elected president, what is going on now would still happen.
My heart goes out to those families up there but you would not find one politition no matter how gun pro he/she was who would not show some sediment towards this tragedy. The bottom line is that one "bad egg" spoiled it for the bunch and we will just have to weather this and see what becomes of it.
There have been too many instances lately too ignore this anymore.
If these nut jobs continue shooting up their towns, we will all be forfeiting our guns.
It's time to start policeing our own !!

Ok, so for you real world guys....

We went to the allentown gun show, and dropped out of the line to get in. That show is tight on a good day and neither of us saw that many cars, or that many people before even going in.

We went to Sarco in easton, and the shop next door. I bought one of the last 3 AR's on the shelf by 11 AM. My buddy bought one of the last AR's from the neighboring shop shelf as well. Both shops were sold out by the time we walked out. The latter shop had a few Colt AR's that were 2K a piece marked "competition" with long barrels and decked out with fancy stuff for comp shooting. Both places had issues with background checks. Busy signals, everyone on the phone, delays delays. We started the day at 7 and we didn't leave the 2nd shop till 3 PM.

Both shops were SOLD OUT of any AR mags. They were selling 7.62 39 and 223 for a BUCK A ROUND, by the box, yes, 19.95 a box for 20....and people were buying it. I suspect they were down to their last case or two and they said, "let's make it last...how much can we get away with?"

Let me say that again...that's a BUCK A ROUND.

No back orders, need I say anything more?

So to those that say...."We are still free, I'm a conservative"....please rethink your words.

All the major online retailers have either shut down their site all together, or everything is marked, backordered till A LONG TIME FROM NOW... "Please understand that orders take weeks to process now...etc"

We both "stole" stock one of the last stock bushies off the shelf for about a grand and we were both thrilled to have that. 9mm for 24 cents a round by the thousand, last 2 cases! ... umm....not much else to tell. Get em while their hot.

The stuff that we passed up, Like AR 20 rounders were in the baskets behind us in the check out line. We hit it at the right time, and there is nothing more till ...???

The guy at Sarco even said that they ordered the last few PRIMERS that they had available to them from their distributors. We bought what they had there too.

Heck, even standard caliber loading dies are backordered on midway too.

It has to get better, right? The prices will drop to "normal", right? I'll dream about that tonight.

Does anyone remember when Obama was elected president the 1st time. There was a run on ammo because everyone thought the minute he got into office ammo and gun type stuff would skyrocket or not be avaalble. Guys who were just trying to get a box of 30 calibre ammo for the upcoming start of rifle season could not find it.
What happened, nothing.... as soon as suppllies were replensihed it was business as usual.
Do I think things will be different now, yes, but for the normal hunting things, rifles and ammo, no.
The more hype continues the more the prices will stay hign and supplies low.
The reason the prices skyrocketed was supply and demand, if no one went out and tried to buy every AR on the shelf, these stores would not have raised prices.
People again have created their own end result.

this is the same toilet paper, milk, generator and snowblower crowd. the old "wait, they're calling for flurries so i must go and panic buy all the AR mags and 223 ammo i can get". give me a break. if people waited until now to stock up then they get what they get. i personally will wait it out. i won't be going to any gunshows or gun stores for months. yes the price will go up and yes the black rifles will fly off the shelves. who cares? the "real" gun guys already had all they need. the lightweights are spending their kids college fund to prepare for something that will never come.

The frustrating thing is I went out to do a normal purchase of shooting supplies as Christmas gifts, had to wade through panic buyers and look at nearly bare shelves and artificially raised prices, not to mention the fact that nearly all reloading components are listed as on back order. One nearly needs to become a hoarder just to have on hand what you normally use for regular practice and hunting.

It's a shame DonO. I feel your pain. I was going to take a ride to Cabela's just to walk around and maybe pick up a last minute thing or two. All the hysteria with the AR's, clips and ammo combined with the Xmas holiday, I said bag it and stayed home.
When April rolls around and the fishing merchandise isles are crowded from 11th hour need be's, I'll slip in the gun isle and do my looking around.
