Wanted to ask someone who uses snowshoes here what type do you recommend for Pa terrain I like the look of the traditional alaskan style but want function over looks the new aluminum style have cleats to bite into ice so I was thinking maybe that route any help would be appreciated thanks

I have 2 pair of aluminum and have put some serious milage on them without any problems.

The MSR line of snowshoes are very good. I have the MSR Denali Ascents. They take an absolute beating and keep on going.

Thanks for info I really like the look of traditional shoes But want some teeth and I feel the modern ones are more maneuverable for Pa woods

With the Ascents they have a "heal lifter" device that can be used when climbing steep hills. It raises you heal up a couple inches and reduces the stress on your calf muscles. I wasn't sure about it at first but after using it... it's a god send. Hard to explain but excellent to have.
