Well Snopes aside, what the soldier feels is his/her business.He/she is doing what he/she is required to do as a sniper and the military has directed them to.I commend them for that. They perform a service most people don't want to do.Very special type of person. My nieghbor is and ex marine he built a HD chopper and semper fi is all over it and he has semper fi plates on his 3 other vehicles. There are a few hearts on his chopper but I did not ask why because I felt they may have a special meaning to him he may not be comfortable sharing.Once a Marine always a Marine.Very tightly knit group.

As far as I'm concerned they should feel nothing but pride that they are ridding the world of its evil one shot at a time. More power to them, and no remorse required, for what they are shooting is the lowest form of life there is.....
I totally agree with you!! One well placed shot between the eyes or anywhere on the body to rid the world of the scum.

One well placed shot by a highly trained Sniper takes out one terrorist, But saves the lives of countless Troops. They are quiet heros. My son is leaving for Iraq in 20 days and he has been working on his PT score and other things in hopes of being accepted into sniper school when he returns in 15 months. It has been his life long goal to make it into this group.

In the future, the question is who is the terrorist?
You and me because we hunt and own guns?
Conservatives because they disagree with Obama and Pelosi?
Whomever Napolitano wants to have done in?

I hope that our military realizes where the real threat is and doesn't obey any orders from the white house to slay civilians in a Marshall law setting.

The communists are still the enemy, only now, they're in DC.

Trade secret, but many of them have captions that are not suitable for this site.

Anyone else notice that it's a "recycled" M14 in the above pic? That's the rifle that a previous administration deemed to be surplus, but not suitable for the public, so most were shredded for scrap at Aniston, AL many years ago.

Apparently the Marines had a soft spot for them and kept more than a few, because they're still using some of them in Iraq, for the above purpose.

Originally the Marines (just from my experience) used them as their designated marksmen weapons. I went up to designated marksman school in Chesapeake, Virginia, we fired with the modified M14's while there. Then later on in my career we went to Guam where we got to test and evaluate the newer Squad Designated Marksman rifles that the Warfighting lab was contemplating buying. We ended up picking a heavy barreled colt and the trijicon optic. After going to the school we never really saw much of the M14 anymore.

My best friend since grade school and longtime huntin' bud, "lost" his M14 about halfway through his USMC tour in Vietnam, in 1967. Had to cough it up for an M16 and hated that rifle platform until the day he died in 2001.

Anytime I'd mention getting an AR 15, he'd say go ahead, I'll wrap it around a tree the first time you bring it to camp.

The military are not required to obey a unlawful order, been upheld in a U.S. Court. It's illegal under the U.S. Constitution to order the Military to use force against the U.S. Citizens. I know it has been done in the past i.e. Waco, but it is illegal
