I think when the economic situation is as it is now, the first thing they should do is reduce welfare benefits and let charities pick up the slack, if they can. Over 1/3 of the state budget goes to welfare recipients. Why should those who contribute have to give more when those who only take and contribute nothing just keep on sucking our blood.

I once arrested a MD resident hunting on a resident hunting license. He had a PA welfare card. My investigation revealed he owned a towing business in MD and owned a home in MD and lived in MD and had a girlfriend in Lancaster and was using her address to collect welfare from PA. I turned the information over to the welfare department and they acted like I was doing something wrong and questioned how I knew he lived in MD. Nothing was done to him. I seized his welfare card and gave it to the welfare dept, I am guessing they gave it back to him. There are a whole lot more checks needed on these parasites.
