Yep. If it goes bang and I can afford it I use it. Duel purpose. Good luck

That used to be all I used, and it worked fine. I still would, but the semi I bought a couple years ago has gotten finicky, and won't cycle most of them any more, so I have to go with a little heavier loads. Sounds like a good excuse to buy another shotgun, huh?

Look at the specs on the box more so than just target or game load. A good dove load for 12 gauge you want 1 1/8 oz if shot, going somewhere between 1145-1250 fps. I would also stick with 7 1/2 or 8 shot. It's really personal preference and doesn't matter. You get a bit more range with the 7 1/2's but your giving up some pattern density.

For doves I shoot my handicap trap reloads which are nearly identical to factory Remington Nitro 27's. 1 1/8 of 7 1/2's at 1235fps. Definitely hits them pretty hard!

Go buy a 410. 1/2 ounce of 9 will blast them from the sky and leave you something to eat. Of coarse you have to do your part but you don't have to kill them with the concussion from a handicap trap load.
