Does anybody hunt SGL 057? I saw a camp for sale near there and was wondering if it is worth a closer look. It is just West of the windmills. The closest town I think would be Noxen. Looks like there aren't a lot of camps in that area. might be an advantage. I know some areas of WMU 3B can be really hit or miss as far as deer that's why I ask.
Thanks

Groff Log Cabins
Rosenberry Hill Road, 4 miles east of Dushore, Dushore
Sullivan County

Glad to hear Groff’s worked out. I should have mentioned the Colley Pub. It’s under new ownership with a great family. Ten minutes away from Groff’s. I had lunch there on Saturday. It was outstanding.
Saturday night the Tombstone had a winter beach party. The entire floor was covered with sand.
Good to hear you got in to some rabbits. The weather was perfect on Saturday.

There was a great article about the new owners in the Sulley this past week.
Yes. They still have steaks. Plus they smoke their own pork for pulled smoked pork sandwich’s and now have hog wings and several other menu changes.

Tony JR. Lives in Sullivan County with his family. Tony Sr. still works for the Philadelphia Fire Department and commutes back and forth.
I suggest reservations if you want to sit in the dining room area. Last Saturday by noon the were no reservations available before 8:00.

Can’t see any pictures. In any event the Kasson Brook Falls this time of the year generally has some pretty spectacular ice on the falls. Not many people visit that area.
Nope. Still no pictures.
Friday night late left a quick inch in the Forkston, Lovelton area. By Saturday afternoon it was all gone. Still white up high.
Timber - I see your picture.
All of Forkston and North Branch Township still without power.

The brookies were hitting pretty good this morning on the North Branch of the Mehoopany Creek. No one else fishing. The gobblers are also pretty wound up.

Nope. Not the owner. Bethany and Anthony Sneider are the owners with Anthony’s Dad, Tony. Beth and Anthony are only in their mid 20’s and live in Lopez. They are doing a great job since opening in January. The kitchen is small and on busy nights service may take a bit but it is well worth it. Most Friday’s and Saturday’s the bar and dining are full. You can get a reservation by calling the Pub at 570-928-8744. And yes —— they hunt.

North Branch and South Branch of the Mehoopany Creek stocked today at 1230.
With all of the rains we have had the non hard top roads are in horrible shape. Two weeks ago we stopped at the Central Park Hotel. From there we took the Jamison City Road to 487 to Rouse Pond Road to Dutch Mountain Road to Bellasylva Rd and down Dutch Mountain to Windy Valley Road. I’ve never seen these roads so bad. Penn DOT does no winter maintenance from the bottom of Dutch Mountain to the top. I’m not sure how things look from the Sullivan County side of the mountain when it snows. I’m hoping the Penn DOT crews at least get some maintenance work done by the fall.

Penn DOT is finally getting to business on Dutch Mountain. They have been working for the last three weeks raking, grading and other operations to get the road back in shape. Bellasylva Rd and down Dutch Mountain to Windy Valley Road. There was so much damage that they may be making repairs for another three weeks. This work was long overdue. Nice to see it getting done though.

State Game Lands. They have been timbering here for the past two years. Just finished up last month. Very low deer hunting presshere. Opening day at Henry Lott four vehicles. Monday three vehicles. Tuesday one vehicle. Years ago there would be 20 or more vehicles.
As the sun hits the forest floor the next few years the habitat should really produce well for the deer. No shortage of deer. Just need hunters to move them.
