I know this has been done already, but here's the form letter response from Commrade Casey, mind you I did NOT say anything about Newtown, he did. I said protect the second amendment, and uphold your oath of office. Needless to say, He's just what we thought he was. Any talk of him being a "pro gun democrat" are just bunk. There's no such thing as a "pro gun liberal":

Thank you for taking the time to contact me about the tragic shooting in Newtown, Connecticut. I appreciate hearing from you about this issue.

As you know, on December 14, 2012, an individual in Newtown, Connecticut forced his way into Sandy Hook Elementary School and opened fire on teachers and staff in the building. In total, the perpetrator murdered 20 students between the ages of six and seven years old, as well as six adults, many of whom heroically sought to stop the shooter and save the lives of children. Like many Americans, I was deeply affected by the scope and brutality of this act. My thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families.

The motives that led to this senseless massacre will likely never fully be comprehended. However, I believe that all public officials have a responsibility to work to prevent such an event from occurring again. This incident reflects a complex problem that requires a comprehensive strategy, including funding for law enforcement officers and the mental health care system. Too many individuals with mental illness are not receiving the services they need and tragically, sometimes a small number of these individuals turn violent. I have supported access to affordable and accessible mental health services for all Americans and I will continue to review proposed solutions to improve our mental health system.

As you may know, I am a strong supporter of the Second Amendment. Pennsylvania has a fine hunting and sporting tradition, and I will defend the right to bear arms as it is enshrined in our Constitution. However, I also believe that the attack at Sandy Hook Elementary School highlights very serious dangers posed to public safety by the misuse of certain weapons and technology originally developed for warfare. According to reports, the shooter was able to kill many children and adults very quickly because he possessed a military-style semiautomatic weapon. He also allegedly used magazines containing up to 30 rounds of ammunition and carried hundreds of rounds more. After much reflection and careful study of the issue, I have decided to support a federal assault weapons ban as well as legislation restricting high capacity clips. In light of what occurred at Sandy Hook, these are two measures that will lessen the chances that this will happen again soon.

Our Nation has already begun a critical dialogue as we examine what steps must be taken to prevent this type of tragedy in the future. On December 19, 2012, President Obama announced the formation of an inter-agency task initiative, led by Vice President Biden, to study these issues and recommend possible actions. I look forward to reviewing these proposals, as well to working with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to address this complex issue.

Again, thank you for sharing your thoughts with me. Please do not hesitate to contact me in the future about this or any other matter of importance to you.

For more information on this or other issues, I encourage you to visit my website, http://casey.senate.gov. I hope you will find this online office a comprehensive resource to stay up-to-date on my work in Washington, request assistance from my office or share with me your thoughts on the issues that matter most to you and to Pennsylvania.

Sincerely,
Bob Casey
United States Senator

Re: Gov. Casey Response, form letter

Ban Senator Casey. Note: he did NOT use a military rifle. We all know that, but this form letter is the same one I saw posted from 2 weeks ago. I sent a letter to him 2 weeks ago, and just got a "form letter" response now. This jerk doesn't even read this stuff. But he "listens to his constituents".

He's already thrown in his hat, without all the facts, or even before it came to committee. What did we expect from a liberal? Pass it before we know what's in it, without the cloud of controversy.

We are minus one on the vote in the senate. Surprise.

I wrote Congressman Bill Shuster, but I guess I wasn't worth the reply. And he won't be worth my vote. I think he's caving to the radicals. Remember these scum bag liars when election day comes.

It' makes me mad to know this country's leaders would take something so horrable like what happened ast Sandy Hook school to feed there personal hate for firearms. We live in a country that dosen't hold the people accountable for there actions but rather an object(guns).

The responses that I got back took weeks...they are just trickling in now. Give him a chance, your rep still may write to you.

I didn't even get one from Casey yet, but Toomey waited till after Ol' Bammy's talking points came out to respond, and said he's against any gun control, period. Time to just stand up and say "No more". Time to write the boys again tonite too. Keep the pressure on -it's so easy, and only takes a few minutes each day to swamp their offices.

Casey is just a socialist, like every other modern day Democrat. Needless to say, he voted FOR Gov't controlled health care, and he will vote to ban guns as well. At least we have other reps from PA that aren't socialists. Toomey is a stand up guy, as is some of our House reps. Gov. Corbett is a stand up guy as well. I just got 3 more 'form letters" from Casey today because I have filled out a bunch of forms in opposition to gun control. It's the same letter.

Blah blah.....What a jerk. He's dancing in their blood, just like all the rest of them using this to advance their agenda.

Altered and finalized. Feel free to use but please alter it in one form or another. Blanket emails are just as bad from constituents as they are from legislators.

The Honorable Robert P. Casey Jr.
393 Russell Senate Office Building
Washington, D.C. 20510

With all due respect, I would like to respond to your blanket email that you have sent out recently to everyone in response to the proposed unconstitutional attack on the Second Amendment.

I would like to allude to some of your failed logic on the attack at Sandy Hook Elementary School. The attacker had known mental disorders. He failed the background checks, as required by law, and was denied the purchase of a firearm. The attacker killed his mother and stole her legally purchased firearms. Because of the inept reporting of that day, I do not know what types of firearms were carried into the school. I have witnessed one account on NBC that stated the alleged “assault rifle” was in the trunk of his car and that he carried four handguns into the school. Needless to say, when the attacker forced his way into the school, it is understood that the Principal and school psychologist of Sandy Hook Elementary school met him head-on unarmed. This school, because of irresponsible legislation, had been declared a "gun free zone", and if the principal, Dawn Hochsprung, or school psychologist, Mary Sherlach, were trained in personal protection with a firearm and armed, we would be hailing them as heroes who stopped a very dangerous person from attacking a school and its children. What killed these children and employees of Sandy Hook Elementary School are failed legislation and an abhorrent understanding of the firearms culture within this country. More and more, we law abiding citizens, are seeing legislation that does not tie the hands of criminals or the mentally insane but the hands of those who can help defend the public and community from attacks such as those at Sandy Hook.

You also make note of the magazines that the attacker used. The size of the magazine would have not made a difference in this attack. An armed individual with 30 ten round magazines would have done just as much damage as an armed individual with ten 30 round magazines. As stated before, the only way to have stopped this attacker was with another firearm. A ban on magazines holding more than ten rounds will only tie the hands of the law abiding citizens.

You speak of the Second Amendment. That you are a strong supporter of the Second Amendment and will defend the right to bear arms as it is ENSHRINED in our Constitution. Must I, a lowly citizen, educate you and your aids, those of whom have forwarded your blanket letter, in the context of the Second Amendment? Let me start by quoting the Second Amendment.

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State,
the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

At the time of its' writing you must realize that our armed forces may have contained hundreds of soldiers in support and defense of our fledgling nation. Our government, which was small and immature at the time, knew in order to defend our young country, it must rely on its' citizens, or Militia, for its defense. The military firearm of the time was the Pennsylvania Long Rifle, or more commonly known as the Kentucky Rifle. Every citizen, who was capable of owning one, owned a "weapon" originally developed for “warfare”, or might I say “security”. The founders may not have understood where the technology of firearms would go in the future, but they knew enough to keep the Second Amendment open to interpretation because, you see, "being necessary to the security of a free State" has two implications. The first is against foreign enemies. And the second is against domestic enemies. Our great nation is a Democratic Republic, and it has continued to stay that way for 236 years, since the signing of the Declaration of Independence, because the Government MUST fear the people, not the other way around. The Second Amendment's true intention is to protect this Republic and its' people from tyranny not just from outside it’s' borders but also from within its' borders. You stated, “you will defend the right to bear arms as it is ENSHRINED in our Constitution.” Then I ask you, as you stated, to preserve, protect and respect the Second Amendment of the United States and not support any legislation that will redefine the Second Amendment. Instead, I ask, that you support legislation that enforces the current laws and protects the rights, liberty and security of law abiding citizens of this great nation.

Respectfully,

I got the same form letter response. I will urge everyone to remember what the democrats are pushing right now. Make no mistake if this were to pass it would just be the beginning. I am sad to see all of my democratic reps falling in line with the Presidents desire to disarm Americans. Voice your feelings with your vote next election.

Casey is obviously been bitten by the socialist vampire...and he's now a zombie for the Regime. I would never, nor have I , voted for him. It's a shame that people think that democrats are for "the people". They sell it that way, but they are not. They have a good advertisement, but selling the democrat party for the "common folk" is a common misnomer. They are for gov't control. The class warfare has worked in recent years, but it's just a shell game. It's Communism. Look at our "President". Look at where we are. You cannot steal from some folks to give to "non-workers" and have i work out well.

I work, and I don't take kindly to give to non-workers.

Socialists want disarmament. Only then can they continue to steal money from the taxpayers without retribution.

The gravy train will stop, weather they like it or not.

God save the country. Seeing the inauguration, it's like a bad dream, like Groundhog day...all over again. Surviving 4 more years of this socialism and class warfare will be a tough road. Hopefully we can endure.
