I had such a horrible stretch there for 3 weeks I lost interest myself, haven't went out for a few weeks... Of course now that I have some free time to go out and no obligations tomorrow morning (could hunt all night) it is gusting 25 mph!

Anybody having any luck lately? Reds, greys? what calls are they responding well to? Good luck guys

Went out for one set tonight but the wind is to bad. I've had 4 coyotes come with-in 200yrds over the last 2 months but no shots. For some reason can't get them to come out for a clear shot

I went out last evening til 11pm and called in two deer, saw 4 rabbits at my second set, and saw some eyes out at 200 yards at 3rd set but wouldn't come any closer.
Went out 2 nights ago for about 4 hours and called in an owl. Now granted this is my first year but Ive only seen 2 set of eyes all year . . did have some coyots talking on a few occassions though
I called a single yote in on Friday night. The most vocal yote i have ever had respond to me. I heard it howling after a break in my distress calling. Sent out a female lone howl and it came right in. Stopped 2 times and howled on the way in. From the first time it answered me it took 57 minutes of howling back and forth to get a shot. All calling was done with my foxpro fury. Soon as this wind is gone I'm gonna start up again for a few nights. Gotta save some good spots for the cresson hunt.
The is my first year predator hunting. I've had the distinct pleasure of hunting at night with Joe Zapputo of Night Eyes lights twice. Joe was so kind to answer my plea for some "newbie" instructions. His professionalism was apparent, knowledge was supreme and effort was exhausting. I truly appreciated him taking the time out of his busy schedule to show me the ropes. I've been out on four or five occasions since on my own too. To say it has been "tuff" going is an understatement. The only eyes that I've seen are from the three small deer that I called in the other night. However, Joe actually got quite a good response from some coyotes which answered his calls the second night out. Then the wind shifted and they became silent and did not come in. Although this might make some get discouraged...it just makes me more determined! Since I work most days I have just been going out at night. It seems that I'm not the only one that has had "tuff" going. I can't wait to get my first critter...as I will keep you posted if I do. Good luck to everyone!

Did you get a picture? How big was it?
3 times out this year and nothing. Got a few new spots on my buddy's farm, couldnt make nicer set ups if we tried. Tracks all over but still no sighting. Disheartening to say the least, but never give up!
