Well, today was my first ever scouting trip for bear. Me and a friend parked at the top of a mountain, hiked in 1 mile on old logging roads and down in the bottom was a nice little mountain stream surrounded by pines, laurel and on either side, many oaks. Acorns were everywhere. It opened up a bit around the laurel, so, we decided to call it home. Also, here's what we found I the area. It made me pretty excited. The log is chest high. Many claw marks on it. MANY! Trees
Also we're clawed.

It was fresh. Very fresh.

What do you think? For my first ever scouting mission for bear it seems promising as any hunting situation can get.
