I've been noticing the same thing.. If I'm in a pool that I know well and have a long run I'll be moving pretty quick in the dark sometimes (30mph or so).. I can't imagine hitting someone moving like that, but all it takes is following the law and it's completely unavoidable.. It's scary how common it is.. I just don't get it
Scary Incident this morning!
This morning while heading out to go hunting, I almost hit another boat.
They cut right across in front of me trying to beat me to a spot, and get this............... They had no lights on!!!!!
No lights showing at all. No running lights, no spotlight, not even a head lamp or flashlight showing.
Luckily I saw the reflection of light off of the wake from their boat, and slammed the throttle off and came to a dead stop.
Later heard another boat go flying downriver but couldn't see it, because.............you guessed it, they didn't have any lights on.
It's just common sense people, if you're going to be running the river in the dark, put some lights up before someone gets killed.

Make the call. If the authorities are made aware of the situation, they might just be able to do something about it.
Who drives in the dark without a spotlight in their hand??
Same thing becoming a problem in the east also. Plus they are zipping the coast and coves in the dark trying to flush birds. We need more deer and duck dynasty cancled !

It's not because of any tv show, it all comes down to the basics people live by in America:
- Lack of Respect for others.
- Lack of Respect for the Law.
- Screw you.
- It's ALL about ME.
I got an idea for a new years resolution for the waterfowl forum.. we dont blame everyting on no deer and duck dynasty or any other tv shows.
I like the show, its pretty entertaining, just being a bit sarcastic , but it's caused everyone and their brother want to be duck hunters,
Now guys are sending what kind of duck is this pictures to willies Twitter feed. Because they want to fill bags and get a retweet.
Where I hunt there has been mine and one other boat out there for years. Now they're everywhere. And when they are flushing birds in the dark with no lights on ,almost through your spread it ticks ya off, duck hunters in this area have always been ethical and shown great sportsmanship and respect for each other. Now it's mostly kids chasing down buffies shooting off the bow at them.

I hear your sarcasim. its just the third post ive heard that on this year alone from various ppl. so we are starting to sound like fly fisherman..oops sorry guys i do that too. you know what i mean. anyways there are more jagoffs in the world in everything from duck hunting to driving cars and just about anything. maybe we should pray more like the end of duck dynasty, lol we cant stop the idiots, just do our part to educate the ones we can influence on the right way and turn the idiots in when we can.

I don't agree to any rule that says I can't bash that Crappy show. If it wasn't obvious when they ditched the rusty brownings with no beads for the spaghetti gun and the burris speed bead, that show confirms they sold out. Every hear quote from Phil about Terry Bradshaw choosing the bucks and he chose the ducks? Yeah, Phil finally came around to Terry's way of thinking. The show is trash. I like the DVD's, but the show's trash.

I disagree with you and some of the others that the show isn't having an effect. I think it is encouraging just the type of people you lament to go duck hunting. I'm just hoping in this part of the state that those bozos see that PA duck hunting isn't like what they show in those DVDs and TV shows. Then I hope they quit. Now for the respectful guys that are inspired to hunt, I say welcome.
