Thinking about getting a older Savage 24 410/22 with the barrels welded top to bottom.Have heard in the past about Savage 24's not hitting point of aim on both barrels but those were mostly the ones with separated barrels.Anyone have the welded barrels and how does it shoot?

i got a old one,it doesn't have the barrel selector on the hammer, its on the side of the reciever.come to think about it,it don't have a serial number either! shoots good, once i brazed the rear site solid.it would get bumped as you carry it.many a rabbit has fallen to it!

With mine the .410 barrel hits lower than the .22 mag barrel. It's really noticable when I shoot .410 slugs. They both shoot the same right to left but the .22 barrel definitely impacts with the sights while the .410 barrel I have to aim a little high with. Mines that old it doesn't have a serial number.
