Holy Cow!! I actually have two Saturdays in a row that I can take the kayak out and do some fishing. Last Saturday I went to High Point Lake.

This Saturday, I want to try some place different. I'm looking for suggestions, anybody have any ideas?

To narrow it down, I'd like to keep it to Southwestern / Southcentral / Northcentral PA

I fish the Juniata at Newport, there is a nice launch about a mile down river from the bridge. They have rubber matting on the ramp to keep from damaging you yak, Pa fish commission launch.

Raystown Lake lots of smallmouth ,and a load's of other's. It will have a lot of boat traffic on Sat., but there are lots of small inlets and out of the way places at the Aitch and James creek launch areas. You might just run on to a school of stripers bustin bait on top, that could be interesting in a yak, keep a rod rigged with a shad type lure, the action will be fast and won't last long.

My favorite run is from Duncannon to Marysville on the Susquehanna. Main St in Duncannon, you put in under the tunnel right across the street from a bar call "The Pub". This is not really a launch but it's open access. Once you get to Marysville there is a public launch at a bar/grill call the Waterfront. It's a great run with lots of good fishing, and you get to go right past the Statue of Liberty, and then have a couple brews on the deck at Waterfront. It will take you 5-6 hours if you fish it thoroughly. Can make it in 4 hours if you just float/paddle. I think I'll be doing it Saturday as well.
