It's that time of year again, firing up the wood burners, fire places and furnaces. Please make sure you take the time to make sure everything is cleaned properly and ready for a long cold winter.
Very unfortunate, but a friend of mine had his cabin burn to the ground two weeks ago in English Center. A second friend of mine has a place out around SnowShoe and his chimney was blocked so bad he could barely fit his thumb through the opening at the top. He could have just as easily ended up like my friend in English Center.
Also, please make sure you check your CO and smoke detectors.
Good luck to all this season and be safe!
