Had this S10 about 3 yrs.Tried couple different wiper blade and switching side to side.Keep getting a "skip"streak on drivers side.Noticed it doesn't do it a low speeds under 35MPH.Thinking wind coming across the hood is getting under blades.
Has anyone else had this and wondering if one of those Bug Shields that goes across the front of the hood would help?

We have a 89 that we had since new and have a bug shield on it for the last 25 years and have never noticed your problem. We have the old style straight up vertical shield which works a million times better than the newer style streamlined style.

We had a new '91 S10 4x4 with the "straight up" bug shield on the hood nose and it worked fine for deflecting bugs (so did the same style on my '80 K10).

Bugs hit the windshields above eye level, which was great.

The "aerodynamic" style bug shield I put on the new 2002 S10 was worthless for bug deflection. Haven't bothered with one since, because that's about all that is now available.

I would suggest getting a pair of wiper blades with the anti-lift attachments, see if that helps, for the OP's troubles with skips.
