i looked at a new 1 for $299 but decided to go with a new walther p22 for $335. the ruger seemed well made though just decided on the walther because it has good reviews and has been around longer

Yea, that seems like a common thing I've heard. Still really focused on the Ruger.

I came close to buying a SR22 the other day but decided to wait until better weather when I can use it more often. I had the Walther p22 and thought it was a cheesy piece of crap, mine jammed frequently. I also think the grip on the Ruger is much more comfortable.

A lot of good reviews on the Ruger SR22. Feels nice in the hand too. Haven't got a chance to shoot mine yet but if it's anything like my other Ruger's it should be a sweet piece.

Two bad points on the ruger:

1. Safety is 'up' for off and 'down' for on
2. There is an internal part that is dovetailed and screwed to the barrel and this comes loose and ruins internal parts.

One good point

Shoots like a dream for a $300 pistol
