I came close to buying a SR22 the other day but decided to wait until better weather when I can use it more often. I had the Walther p22 and thought it was a cheesy piece of crap, mine jammed frequently. I also think the grip on the Ruger is much more comfortable.

Two bad points on the ruger:

1. Safety is 'up' for off and 'down' for on
2. There is an internal part that is dovetailed and screwed to the barrel and this comes loose and ruins internal parts.

One good point

Shoots like a dream for a $300 pistol
