I almost pulled the wallet out and bought one at the gun show last week. I see them in the Grice's ad and have read positive things on the internet.

Anyone own one or have any opinions or experience? Looking to buy one soon.

I would want to make sure the parts are interchangeable other military and commercial AR parts. If they use parts particular to the Ruger AR and not interchangeable with other ARs that would be a concern for me.

Ruger has stopped making parts for some of their guns. I have an older Red Label and they do not have parts I need.

A good friend of mine was shopping for a fun AR. He started looking at a Ruger, and ended up with a S&W. From what he said the trigger was bad, and the fit wasnt something he was willing to spend money on. Now for reference, he shoots match rifles, so the bar might be a little different.

This could not have been more timely as I was looking at them at Encks just last week. Going to save up for a better product but I don't know what one.

These AR's confuse me..... I know I want:
A - 1 in 8 ROT to shoot heavy bullets
B - 5.56 compatible
C - accuracy is a priority
And after that - I don't know what I don't know.

Ruger no longer making spare parts? That, to me, indicates a fire sale to Remington or an "Out of Business" sign hung in the window.

I got one and I love it. I did replace the trigger though.
I don't know about others triggers, but to the best of my knowledge most lower priced ARs have mil-spec triggers, and mil spec triggers are like 8-9lbs pull. I got a 3.5lb pull the Ruger AR-556 shoots great.

Mine shoots good now, I changed the trigger and put a Timney 3.5 lb. trigger in it, put a Magpul butt stock on it and shimmed the lower receiver to stop the upper and lower rattle or wobble. Also added a Nikon scope and rings. And with all that, best accuracy at 100 yards is 1 inch groups with factory 55 gr.556 ammo but I think that's about as good as it gets with any inexpensive AR 15. With all the upgrades I could have invested in a Sig 400 and had a better rifle.
