Anyone have any luck cleaning algae stains of their roof?
I have tried the trisodium phospate, bleach mixtures with
little success.. Wondering if there are any products that are reasonably prices that work.

No I have not but I can give you a suggestion for preventing further algie buildup. If you take a few strands of bare copper wire (BARE copper wire) and run it along your roof from side to side so that rain water will wash over it the effluent will prevent, and kill, the algie. You can do this with copper wire from Romex and run it so that it is at the top of your roof peak and then a few times down the face of the roof blending it with your shingle run so it is not very visable. The issue is that if you do this and kill the alge but not clean it off the roof. It will prevent the growth of new alge.

There is a product out there called "NEW AGAIN". The stuff is made for decks and roofs. When used on a deck you don't need much water pressure to clean. The stuff reactivates when you put water on it so you just spray the entire area first and then rinse off with a power washer. I used it when I had a power washing business years ago. It is also envirnmentally safe. It won't kill your plants.

Careful not to wash the coating off your shingles and shorten your roof life and ruin your warranty

Yeah I was looking for something that I could use that wouldn't require pressure washing, I have a very steep roof pitch and would not be comfortable walking on it, not to mention the damage that can occur from pressure washing. I was thinking of something that could be sprayed with my backpack sprayer then rinsed off with the hose.. What was the active ingredient in that "New Again" Amazon?

I can't remember what the active ingredient is in the stuff. All I can tell you is that it works great and yes you will be able to use a garden hose instead of a power washer. When I first got the stuff I poured some on one of my wifes flowers at full strenth and it didn't kill the plant. You mix this stuff at 1 part to 5 parts water.
jimsdad...I have used it on my siding plenty of times and it works. They also sell a product for siding as well but I always just used the deck and roof cleaner.
One note to mention. It does burn the skin and eyes so if you get it on you just rinse immediately. Great stuff and I am not affiliated with them at all. Since I've gotten out of the business I still order a bottle or two from them once a year for my home use and I have my neighbors buying it now to.
